Whoops. The blog accidentally went on summer vacation. But then our friend Taylor released a surprise album out of nowhere, Lake Pajamas announced their (highly-anticipated) summer sale and I managed to spend a week+ at the beach and not get sunburned (thanks to my beloved Elta MD). Here we are. Back and in business and I’ve got things to talk about. Buckle up.
- The Lake Pajamas Summer sale starts Monday at 10am EST. I have been politely pestering the girls over at Lake for insider information for weeks. They have spilled a few details: up to 70% off and nearly everything is on sale! You can load up your cart early if you want to do pre-sale shopping. Make sure you have your account set up with your information saved for easy check-out. I’m eyeing this dress, this nightgown and trying to convince myself that I don’t need this set of pjs that I could mix and match with my current cropped set. If I had to pick one thing to try to snag as a first-time purchase, I’d go with these pjs or this robe. (Sizing note: I’m a medium in their pajamas and a small in the robe. Whatever you do, DO NOT DRY them. Treat according to their recommended laundering directions).
- I shared this recipe for tomato corn pie over on IG stories last week, but it was so good it deserves re-sharing here because I’ve eaten it twice and will 100% be making it again. The perfect way to use up a few ears of corn and summer tomatoes (spoiler: another great way to use summer tomatoes coming to the blog tomorrow). I used pre-made crust to save time and it turned out great.
- These socks just got added to my Amazon cart at the recommendation of my best friend Kate. She used a set last week and swears they changed her life (given the current state of my feet, I would welcome this magical sorcery).
- Kiwi (my sister) has a pair of rubber Birks and I borrowed them a few times while we were together last week. Then, after looking around, I snagged this pair from Target. They arrive tomorrow. Walmart also has similar options and I’ve heard they are on clearance for $3 in case you too need rubber strapped sandals.
- While not an official Taylor Swift Fan Club page, I adore her for so many reasons and have listened to Folklore at least a half dozen times. I’m still beside myself that while I was making banana bread and KPW was growing a quarantine beard, TS was writing, performing and producing an album with hardly anyone else in the world knowing about it, including some of the people who helped make it happen. I also shared more thoughts during Friday’s Morning Show if you care to catch the replay 😉
May the pajama odds ever be in your favor.
Love,
KNW
PS: There was a time when, no matter one’s political affiliation, we could share our admiration for anyone who embodied the American spirit; I hope that ability can be rediscovered in our society. On a great American’s reaction to a triumph he personally fought to see happen – KPW
I wore toe socks a lot in middle school and now they freak me out. I also hoped to grab a tank-long pair of Lake pjs to mix and match with my current short-short Marine pair but unfortunately they were sold out of my size. I did get the short-long Lavender pair.
