Weekly Wins – #4

The hot dogs have been eaten and the homemade ice cream freezer is empty. The Fourth of July is over, and we’re moving into the thick of the summer in North Carolina — the time of year when we basically live in the backyard with the water hose turned on full blast. While my garden is growing, I am the first to admit I haven’t held up my end of the watering agreement (watering babies > watering veggies). I’m already researching drip hoses for next year…Speaking of veggies, when it’s 90+ degrees outside the last thing I want to do it stand in a hot kitchen and cook, which means I’m obsessed with this Mediterranean pasta salad (hold the olives). It gets full credit for my plans to double my cherry tomato plants next year (and the aforementioned need for drip hoses because my poor cucumbers look pitiful).

My beloved Elta MD sunscreen is a mainstay 365 days of the year, alongside SPF 30+ all summer, so I have found this tanning lotion to be a great option to give me good color with minimal effort and no ‘gross fake tanner’ smell. I put it on roughly every other night after I shower.

In addition to cherry tomatoes and cucumbers, I attempted a small cutting garden for the first time and wish I had signed up for this free workshop first. I have all-the-heart-eyes for everything Erin does and am crossing my fingers for better luck with my flowers next year.

My quest for new water bottles for the babies is ongoing. These are up next. Fingers crossed for minimal leaking because the babies love the fun designs.

I keep chickening out on making beauty tutorials, because I’m not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I need to dye my eyebrows again. One of my best friends begged me for a video, so I’m going to try to record myself doing it so I can share. It takes less than 5 minutes and I promise it’s easy. All you need is beard dye and a spoolie/small brush. With dyed eyebrows and some concealer, I feel like I can conquer the world.

Hitting publish, climbing into bed and going to hit play on…you know where this going. A. HAM. There are tons of great articles floating around the internet and I found this interview with Renee Elise Goldsberry particularly delightful and inspiring.

PS – Buried under an avalanche of Hamilton hype, The Babysitter’s Club series also debuted this weekend on Netflix. As an avid reader of the novels, may I present to you a preview. – KPW (yes, KPW – don’t @ me)

KPW, how have we never discussed BSC? Loving the show and I’m in a BSC book club this summer that is LIFE GIVING. (PS, the books hold up)

Okay, BSC…. books have always been at the top for me. Am I the only one saddened by the unnecessary additions of certain “relevant” topics? I was so disappointed, was hoping to be able to share the show with my young daughters. Now I won’t be just for the sake of not having to open up these conversations with them yet.

We use those Camelback water bottles for our 2 toddlers and love them! I bought them on amazon and lots of styles often go on sale for $8-9!

The camelbak eddy bottles are our fave. Easy to clean and minimal spillage after a couple years use here. I hope y’all have the same luck 😊
