File this under poor timing to publish the day before my birthday but at least I can say it’s done? KPW has been asking for a list of ideas for weeks. The good news is that these items also translate for Mother’s Day, which is only a few weeks away. Which feels helpful? Yes? Maybe?
Related/Unrelated: I have deep feelings about Mother’s Day (spoiler: it’s a wildly hard holiday for me). If for some reason I don’t get to the blogpost I want to write, remember that while all holidays can be hard for various reasons, Mother’s Day can be especially tricky for anyone battling infertility or dealt with the loss of a parent or child.
Hi, I am an enneagram 2 and I have a lot of feelings and the overbearing need to over-explain. Moving along to my birthday wishlist…
- Hill House Nap Dress – Probably should have timed this post to go live before the latest drop on 4/14 as most everything is sold out. Good news for KPW – he bought me the pink striped Ellie dress so he doesn’t really need a birthday wishlist after all. They do regular restocks, so I highly recommend putting it on your radar for future gifting opportunities (a HH gift card is always a great idea).
- Silhouette Pieces – My tiny charm necklace is one of my greatest treasures. The photos are from the babies first birthdays and I would love to get updated charms for my necklace now that the babies actually have hair. The details, even in the smallest charms, are remarkable. I actually have my eye on a few different pieces from Vana’s shop. (I think these prints would make a darling grandmother gift for Mother’s Day).
- Cuyana Travel Bags – These have been on my radar for ages, but since travel has been shut down, I had forgotten about them until I pulled out my stuff to pack for a quick weekend at the beach and realized I could really use new toiletry bags. These fall under “pretty but practical” and make me want to plan a trip that requires an airplane ride…
- Summer Salt Lounge Set – I fully blame the IG algorithm for this pick because I’ve gotten served ads for this light blue puffy short-sleeved sweatshirt and short set over and over and I can’t stop thinking about them. It feels like the perfect summer around-the-house outfit.
- Hand-Painted Pottery – Not confessing how much time I spent browsing on Susan’s site. I have long admired her pieces and would love to add a few things to my collection. Her custom pieces are gorgeous, but really, I don’t think you can go wrong no matter what you pick (like this vase perhaps?)
- All Bird Sneakers – I’m firmly in camp ‘fun yet functional’ so while other people might consider sneakers a boring gift, I would be thrilled to unwrap a new pair of these charming little sneakers for scooting around town this summer.
- GNP Necklace – Team Simplified sent this necklace to me during launch week (an overly generous perk of being best friends with Em) and I have worn it nearly non-stop. While it technically wasn’t a birthday gift, I’m counting it as such. I think it would make a super sweet Mother’s Day gift too.
- Tiny Tassel – Treasures from Mimi’s shop are always on my radar. While I tend to wear pearls most every day, I think that a fun pop of color is never a bad idea.
I hope it goes without saying that I don’t really need or expecting anything for my birthday or any other holiday. I’m overwhelmed at the abundance of blessings in our family. While it still feels a bit weird to share things on my wishlist, my love of helping others (see: helping you come up with ideas you would like to give/receive) wins out.
Love,
KNW
PS: While it’s not Christmas, I still fully stand by nearly everything on this wishlist. One exception: I love the quality of my DD bag but needed to swap it out because it wasn’t quite big enough.
PPS: I love gifting in all shapes and sizes. A gift doesn’t have to be fancy to be special. A sweet treat from a local bakery? Yes, please. Or a towel scrunchie? Or fresh flowers? A house plant? I would love a new hydrangea bush or three for the front yard.
Fun picks!
And, yay for birthdays!
