My pajama drawer is almost exclusively filled with Lake Pajamas. I’ve gotten a few pairs as gifts for Christmas or birthdays over the years. I still have the first pair I ever got – from back in 2016!? I am a sucker for a set of matching pjs.
I know that buying pajamas that should be washed with other not heavy clothes (think delicate cycle) and should never be dried (but really, don’t dry them) feels aggressive, but I swear they’re worth the bit of extra effort. They are the softest and coziest pajamas I own.
The annual February sale is the best time to snag a new pair for yourself or stock up on gifts (early Mother’s Day/Father’s Day shopping?) and it start today (Wednesday, February 17) at 10am. I’m planning to snag this set long-short set in hydrangea so that I can mix and match with my short-cropped set (feels like 4 sets of pajamas for the price of 2).
Favorites: While one shouldn’t pick a favorite set, if I were picking a first set to buy, I would grab the short-cropped set or short-long set. However, my love of the robe is well-documented and would be a perfect gift for a new mom. Since we’re heading into warmer months, I will say that I wear my long-short set nearly every night.
Sizing: For pajamas I would size up if in between sizes or you want them cozy. I have a medium in most all my sets (note: you can dry them for a few minutes if you need to shrink them). My only exception is the nightgowns, I think you can size down – I have smalls. For robes, do not size up. The robes run big. I have a small and it’s still generous. (Note: I consider myself a schmedium. I have a best friend who considers herself a lardium and she follows the same sizing ratio- large for pjs, medium for robe and nightgowns.)
Other thoughts: Yes, I know they are expensive. They definitely fall into the luxury category but they are one of my favorite treats both for myself and to give as a gift.
In addition to my long-short set, I am going to try to grab these pants for KPW as an early Father’s Day gift and this set of pjs for the babies (everyone recommends sizing up, which I feel is sage advice whenever buying kids pajamas).
Happy shopping. May the odds of color and size be ever in your favor.
xo,
KNW
PS: Ahem, I might also be hoping that these are included in the sale. Consider this my very proactive Christmas pajama planning. And this unicorn sweatshirt has been sold out for months. I’m going to guess it won’t be included in the sale but maybe?
