Cozy Christmas Reads

Friends! You’re in for a treat. Our beloved AB is back with another book post. Don’t miss her gift guide from a few weeks ago, especially if you still on the hunt for a final few gifts. xo, KNW

Hi friends!

I’m so excited KNW has invited me back for more book talk–thanks to all of you for reading my last post on bookish gift ideas! Today I’m popping in real quick with a list of cozy reads for YOU.

These books are great wind-down reads for this time of year, so whether you start one today or indulge yourself when your Christmas chores are done, I think you’ll be all the better for it!

A Stroke of Malice by Anna Lee Huber: A fun, historical mystery set at a snowy Scottish castle. Very cozy.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss: Kate literally goes on twelve dates during December hoping to find the one! Super charming on audio.

We Met in December by Rosie Curtis: A delicious slow burn of Christmas-y romance. A long one but totally worth it!

See You in the Piazza by Frances Mayes: Author of Under the Tuscan Sun, Frances Mayes takes us all over Italy in this non-fiction travel journal of sorts. Perfect for a year when international travel has alluded all of us.

A Simplified Life by Emily Ley: I know a lot of you are familiar with Emily but I think reading or re-reading this book is a great tool if you’re someone who likes to evaluate what is working or not working in your home. 2020 has been the weirdest year but I bet there are some rhythms you hope stick around and some you would like to refresh.

Shop the list here.

And before I go, just like so many industries, the book space has been hit hard by the pandemic, so by all means, if you are able, support your local bookstores or order from an independent bookstore in another town. All the links to these books will take you to bookshop.org which profit shares with thousands of indie bookstores across the country.

This is a great year to buy books if you’re at a loss with what to gift. Books are such an accessible avenue for learning, escape, and empathy, and in the same way, local bookstores create communities and safe spaces for all of these things to flourish. That’s all. Happy Reading friends!

Love,

Betsy
