Happy Thanksgiving week, friends. Let’s jump right into the holidays, shall we? My house is 90% decorated for Christmas. There is a giant grateful turkey taped to the coat closet door and a pumpkin filled with pine cones on the bar cart. I’m calling this “lewk” holiday soup.
I know people fall on a wide range of holiday decorating timelines but as I’ve shared before, I think my ‘your lane, your rules’ mantra applies in full force here. We’re watching Christmas movies and drinking (hot) apple cider and reading Curious George Thanksgiving on repeat.
Along with all the holidays come all the sales. I’m trying to keep things streamlined in an effort to not overwhelm. I’m updating my Holiday Guide 2020 as I have a free few minutes here and there. You know my enneagram 2 is here to help.
- My beloved Lake Pajamas are going on Black Friday sale a bit early this year. The sale starts tomorrow morning (MONDAY) at 8am. If I were picking my first ever Lake, I would get a robe, but I’m a robe gal. They have a new one that I have my eye on for tomorrow. My second recommendation would be the cropped pjs. Although, to be fair, I have and love multiple different sets and if you’re savvy, you can mix and match. TL;DR. Don’t dry them. They are worth the extra effort. I size up to mediums in the pjs and stick to a small in the robe (I think the robes run big).
- Thanksgiving isn’t going to look like it normally does this year. I foresee mimosas and pajamas well into the morning on Thursday. At the recommendation of multiple friends, I’ll be trying an Apple Cider Mimosa. And yes, I plan to attempt the cinnamon sugar ring because why not? My current favorite cider is from Trader Joe’s and I have already stashed a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge.
- Speaking of Thanksgiving, we’re going to attempt a few Thanksgiving crafts this week. I am not particularly crafty and will be the first to admit that this is what I miss most about pre-school. However, we’re going to start with some variation of this card that we can pop into the mail tomorrow afternoon to family we won’t be seeing in person this year. I am currently thankful for that random stash of googly eyes in the craft closet. Yes, I’m not super crafty, but we do have some supplies.
- Last week I jinxed naps, so we aren’t going to discuss being productive during nap time, but I will share that I had the idea to collect and share useful surcee ideas for the holidays. I was brainstorming today and thought it would be fun to grab some cute holiday paper plates and napkins and add a giftcard to a local restaurant (anywhere from pizza to CFA to fancy) and a note that says “skip dishes for the night! xo.”. Elevate the gifting of a gift card. Pretty + practical.
- In between shopping, decorating, and maybe cooking, I plan to dig into Elizabeth Holmes new book on royal fashion. And maybe, if I find extra time hiding somewhere, I’ll catch up on Season 3 of The Crown, so I can watch Season 4 with the rest of the world.
After I hit publish on this weekly round-up, I’m going to finish my first of a few ‘Christmas List Ideas’ posts. I hesitate to call them “gift guides” because I respect the effort, time and look of official gift guide posts way too much. These are going to be more of ‘this is what I’m asking for, for Christmas, and why’ kind of run-on posts. If you’re on the hunt for anything specific, let me know in the comments!

Love the idea of an ongoing list. I scooped up some Men’s lake pajama pants this morning in hopes my beau will love them as much as I do. Cheers to a wonderfully grateful Thanksgiving week!
