Weekly Wins #8

The good news is that I have 10 (!!!) blog post ideas open and saved as drafts. The bad news is that, while I love writing on this little corner of the internet, I haven’t figured out how to work it into into my weekly rhythms. But I am not going to be defeated.

I’ll keep showing up the best I know how, which at the moment is going to be random times on the days the babies decide to nap or when I don’t feel like crashing into the bed as soon as they go to sleep. On the off-chance that preschool starts back up, I feel like I might have a shot at writing at least once a week. All this to say, thanks for sticking this out with me. Now for a few random thoughts.

  1. If you watch The Morning Show, you know that I made logo cups that are going to be my surcee to anyone who wants one (Weird? Maybe. Do I love them? Yes!). You haven’t missed the chance to snag one. When I opened the box, I realized that there was an issue with the logo so they are being reprinted as we speak. Pivoting original plans and will be posting a sign-up this week! Thanks for your patience. Cute cups are in your future.
  2. My beloved Bella sunglasses are back in stock in Tortoise frame/Grey lens. They are still BOGO. I love them so much I bought a back-up pair and hid them in my closet for whenever (hopefully many years from now) I break my current pair. While the spin mop still gets top billing for best pandemic purchase, these sunglasses flirt with that number one spot. I call them the sisterhood-of-the-traveling-sunglasses. While all my girlfriends don’t share the same single pair, we all own them and they look good on all of us (with our very different face shapes).
  3. I make soup all year round (we love soup). However, in our house, October 1st is officially soup season and I’m prepping by trying to find a go-to tomato soup recipe. This one from Skinny Taste is going to be the first one I try. Please feel free to leave your favorites in the comments below. You can leave other soups too. I am always looking to add to my collection.
  4. One of the blog posts I have planned is a quick run-down of books I’ve read/listened to in the last 6 months (see: during pandemic times). I’m also trying to convince one of my best friends to guest post and give me/us some suggestions for fall/holiday novels. After finishing up my most recent book, Majesty, I hosted a fun IG Live to discuss. I’m working to figure out how to save it to the blog so you can go rewatch as you wish. I can promise campy commentary and some theories on Ethan which can’t be missed. Stay tuned; I need a little website help to make this happen, so I’ve put out a call.
  5. Surprise! Lilly is having their annual APS (After Party Sale) and it starts at 8am-ish Monday. As always, if you plan to make purchases, it’s prudent to make sure you have an account and refresh your browser around 8am to get in the virtual line. I use the pattern names to search for things if I’m looking for something specific. While I don’t plan to snag much tomorrow, I will be trying to grab a pair of leggings, some athletic shorts and this dress (I am determined that I will wear it somewhere next summer on a trip with KPW). Good luck to anyone shopping.

Crashing into bed. KPW sends his regards and a promise of a link next week.

xo,

KNW

So glad I read that blurb about the Lilly sale, as it was 8:02 and I’d forgotten to get my place in line. Your love for fun cups has now spurred me on to FINALLY purchasing fun cups for the occasion, see my Homegating cups which will be sent out as surcees with mini foam fingers to my gal pals at the end of this week in anticipation of Homegating for our first game next Saturday, Go Vols! And my favorite tomato soup comes from Jenny Steffens. Also, North Carolina charm does soup sundays and has some rather tasty soups, highly recommend checking out hers.

    Happy shopping!

My #1 favorite soup to make is the 7-ingredient Easy Zuppa Toscana from Gimme Some Oven. SO good! https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/easy-zuppa-toscana-recipe/

This is technically a stew, not a soup, but my absolute favorite is Skinny Taste’s slow cooker sweet potato beef stew! Practically drooling just thinking about it. I don’t think it’s online – in one of her cookbooks – but I know a girl who can hook you up 🙂

Stumbling across you IG at the beginning of the pandemic and watching TMS since the beginning has become a bright spot (as others have said) during the last 6 months. While I appreciate all of the product recommendations (yes Joy Lab leggings, spin mops, laundry stripping, eye patches and so much more) but beyond all of that I appreciate the positive energy and outlook you bring each day to the community you’ve created. I so appreciate that you unapologetically say your a 38 year old mom of twins and that because something works for you it might not work for us, I love that you share your thoughts on the comparison trap of social media, I appreciate the stay in your lane, find your community, support those you love, find the joy in each day that you share.
